Recently I had heated conversation/argument with my dad about drawing fantasy aircrafts and creatures. He said knowing basics about what you're drawing/designing only gives you limits. I said knowing basics gives you more perspective when you know how things work.

I still stand behind what I said; I wouldn't for example start to design aircrafts or weapons without knowing even a little how they work. Just a little, not everything.
Maybe it creates limits but personally I like it because even fantasy can be somewhat realistic. Does it make drawing boring? Or does give it more  depth? Does drawing even need depth? I can't know.

Maybe it would be good for me to stop asking 'why' all the time when I draw; Why this dude is there? Why he's wearing a coat? Is there cold? Or is he hiding? Why is he looking over his shoulder? Is someone following him? How did he even get there?
You know, things like that. I can't be only one who does that?

And purpose of this journal entry?
There is none. I just wanted to wonder aloud why I think about every drawing so much. And why I spent hours browsing through Internet just to find out what kind of accessories the archers wear or what disease killed most the people in the old ages...

Intense colors and uncertainty Begin to eat away at hope Horrid shapes appear at the dark night street And frolic in the lamp light The shadows of the old streets Go ahead, kick and scatter them The filthy language of the last train
